ROME
Italian police say they have arrested several suspects in an investigation connected to a Mob shooting last year in Germany that claimed the lives of six people.
Police in southern Italy say the seven arrests were carried out early Friday.
The suspects are not directly connected with the Aug. 15, 2007, shooting in Duisburg. But investigators say they belong to the feuding clans that were believed to be behind the shooting.
The clans are part of the ´ndrangheta organized crime syndicate based in the southern Italian region of Calabria. The ´ndrangheta is now considered more powerful than the Sicilian Mafia.
Police say that two more suspects remain at large.
