Friday Treacherous for Motherlode Drivers

There were lots of troubles for Mother Lode drivers Friday morning.

Calaveras County emergency crews responded to a minor injury traffic accident this morning around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 4 at Monge Ranch in the Douglas Flat area. A car went off the road there. No word on injuries.

Emergency units headed to a traffic accident on Highway 108 near the eastern entrance to Twain Harte just before 9 this morning.

In the Forest Meadows area on Highway 4 in Calaveras County a roll-over traffic accident there. Luckily, the motorist was not injured in the crash.

Officials say black ice on the highway was responsible for some problems this morning.

And just before noon, Twain Harte Drive was blocked due to an accident at the west entrance. CHP Officer Tom Wills says the victims of that crash were taken to the hospital. There's still no word on the extent of injuries or the victims' conditions.
