Shed Destroyed, House Saved After Overnight Fire

A shed was destroyed by fire in Sonora early this morning.

The first reports of the fire went out just before 2am. Firefighters were called to the area of Phoenix Lake Road and Expedition Drive. Initial 9-1-1 calls reported a structure fire with possible explosions.

Officials say a shed near a house caught on fire, but firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the residence.

The shed reportedly contained one or more propane tanks, which may have caused the explosions.

No injuries are reported, and no damage estimates are available yet.

The investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.
