Biker Recovers After 80-Foot Fall

A motorcyclist from Castro Valley is recovering after crashing down an 80-foot embankment in the Beaver Creek area of Tuolumne County.

The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department got the initial call, Thursday night.

28-year-old Steve Briggs was rescued via rope, by the Ebbetts Pass Fire Department, and was finally airlifted to a Modesto hospital.

Officials are not releasing his condition.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
