Wine and Jazz at Columbia CollegeMonday, June 28, 2004 - 12:15 PM
It was an afternoon of jazz and wine at Columbia College on Sunday.
Dr. Rod Harris and the Columbia College Big Band performed music, including a cha-cha number, in front of the Manzanita building.
And, in addition to the wine and the music, a silent auction fundraiser was being held, and college president Jim Riggs said the money raised yesterday will be put to good use.
"Right now, we'll be looking at increasing our scholarships and we're also looking at setting up some endowments to support the library," Dr. Riggs said Sunday.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward the Columbia College music and culinary arts programs too, and also toward specialized equipment, musical instruments, and additional science equipment.
