Mono Way Crash Injures One

One person was seriously injured following a two vehicle collision on Mono way in front of Mother Lode Mothers Friday afternoon.

Firefighters called for the Jaws of Life to free the driver trapped inside their mangled Ford SUV just after 2 p.m. this afternoon. The SUV and a Dodge pick-up ended up against the dirt embankment.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the fairgrounds and transfer to a Air Med helicopter and flown to Doctor's Medical Center in Modesto.

The westbound lane of Mono Way was blocked and CHP officers and Sheriff's deputies directed traffic around the crash.

No word on the condition of the injured person.
