Relatives Of Sonora Fugitive Call For His SurrenderFriday, July 30, 2004 - 07:00 AM
Family members of a man wanted in a Sonora killing are pleading publicly for him to surrender to a Sacramento bounty hunter.
Relatives of William Nesler say they fear for his safety if he surrenders to authorities. Police say they believe Nesler is armed and dangerous. He's wanted in the beating death of a man who lived on his property. Sheriff's deputies say Nesler beat David Davis an hour after being released from jail early Sunday. He had been serving time for hitting Davis a month earlier.
Nesler gained notoriety more than a decade ago when his mother fatally shot a convicted child molester suspected of sexually assaulting him.
Sacramento Bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla says he's talked with the F-B-I about helping bring Nesler in safely.
