Sacramento, CA - - Speaker pro Tem Leland Yee's effort to protect coastal environments has received bipartisan support.
For the past 24 years, Congress has protected the coasts of California from expanded offshore drilling in the form of a legislative moratorium. Since 1969, when over 3.2 million gallons of crude oil spilled off the coast of Santa Barbara County, Californians have become even more wary about offshore oil drilling.
