Copperopolis Man Killed In Single Vehicle Accident

Stanislaus County, CA -- A 47-year-old Copperopolis man is dead following a single vehicle rollover accident early Saturday.

CHP says the unidentified man was driving eastbound on Highway 132 near the Modesto Reservoir shortly after 4:00 AM when he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway.

Reports indicate the car crashed through a wooden fence and rolled down a 60-foot embankment.

An officer says the man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. It is unclear whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The man's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
