Mokelumne Hill, CA -- A 16-year-old juvenile is facing numerous misdemeanor and felony charges in a case of modern day cattle rustling in Calaveras County.
The Sheriff's Department says the boy took eight cattle from a Mokelumne Hill field belonging to 76-year-Edward Robinson Tuesday. Reports indicate the cattle were later tracked to an auction yard in Escalon where they had already been sold for more than $3,000.
Detectives located the juvenile suspect and took him into custody.
The money and the cattle were recovered and returned to their original owners.
