Fireworks Go On Sale Today

Undated -- Fire officials are warning residents of the dangers of fireworks as the Independence Day weekend approaches.

Fireworks will be allowed to go on sale in certain areas of Calaveras County as of today.

CDF warns that fireworks of any kind are illegal in Tuolumne County, as well as on federal lands and in the Ebbets pass fire protection district.

Officials also say that any fireworks that leave the ground are illegal as well as those that produce fireballs or flames.

CDF plans to increase patrols in both Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties over the weekend.
