Relatives Of Lodi Men Summoned By Grand Jury In Terror ProbeWednesday, June 29, 2005 - 03:15 PM
Lodi, CA -- Relatives of a Lodi father and son held on terror-related charges say they have been summoned to testify before a federal grand jury tomorrow because they refused to talk to federal investigators.
They are relatives of 22-year-old Hamid Hayat and his father, Umer Hayat. The father and son have both been indicted and are being held without bond on charges of lying to the F-B-I. The younger man is charged with two counts alleging he lied earlier this month when he said he did not attend a terrorism camp in Pakistan. His father faces a single count of lying by denying his son attended the camp.
