Sonora, CA -- The group spearheading a recall effort to remove Tuolumne County Supervisor and Board Chairman Paolo Maffei has withdrawn its plan.
The group led by Lorraine Friedlander reportedly failed to meet the deadline requiring the group to publish its intentions to recall Maffei. The group also apparently failed to file the necessary paperwork with the elections office.
Meanwhile, recall efforts against district one supervisor Liz Bass are stepping up.
The group has reportedly filed papers with the elections commission seeking clearance to circulate petitions for Bass's recall.
If successful, the group could get the measure on the ballot next June.
