San Andreas, CA -- The CDF will be conducting a controlled burn this evening in San Andreas.
Chief Richard Imlach says the 6-acre burn will take place near the Hwy 12 and Calaveras River intersection, west of Hwy 49. Imlach says the burn will take place in an area that has a history of problems with fires coming off of Highway 12. He says the burns are aimed at reducing fuels and minimizing the risk of serious fire.
Imlach says the burn will be conducted from 6:00 to 10:00 tonight with the commitment of 5 engines and 1 water tender.
