Sonora, CA -- The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department is looking for a “person of interest” in the case of a missing 64-year old Nevada woman.
Investigators are looking for 39-year-old Jewel Rice from Colorado and Lieutenant George Ruckman says, they just want to talk to her. He says Rice is believed to have been in the Strawberry area around the same time Nita Mayo disappeared. Ruckman says investigators found out that Rice's car had been towed off the mountain and never claimed.
Members of the community told the Sheriff's Department that Rice was asking people for help regarding her car trouble. She is described as 5 feet 1inches tall weighing 185lbs with brown hair and hazel eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department.
