Sonora, CA -- The field turf at Sonora High School is now officially open to the public after the community had a chance to try it out first hand Friday night at the grand opening.
The event drew hundreds of people and there was entertainment for the whole family, including face painting, a bounce house, balloon tosses, and scrimmages on the field.
The evening was a fundraiser and some Sonora Volleyball moms were selling T-Shirts to help “Complete The Dream,” which is a new track, new lights, and a new softball field.
Although there were several activities throughout the evening a highlight for most students was soaking Principal Terry Clark in the dunk tank.
Clark hopes to raise more than $1 million over the course of the next few years to finish the project.
