CDF Douses Two Minor Weekend Fires In CalaverasMonday, August 29, 2005 - 12:30 PM

San Andreas, CA -- CDF says a fire burned three acres of grass on Highway 49 Saturday night.
Fire Marshall Karry Hubbard says crews responded to the area near San Andreas at about 6:30 in the evening with one CDF engine. Damage is estimated at about $600 and the cause remains under investigation.
Meanwhile crews responded to another blaze early Sunday morning in Copperopolis.
Hubbard says crews responded shortly after 5:30 in the morning to a fire in a horse arena on Black Creek Drive.
The cause of the fire was determined to be discarded smoking material. No injuries were reported, but damage is estimated at about $1200.
Two CDF engines responded along with one engine from the Copperopolis Fire Protection District.
