Halloween Can Be Scary For Parents

Wednesday, October 26, 2005 - 01:10 PM

Sonora, CA -- It's nearly time for Halloween and AAA of Northern California wants to help parents make sure that the holiday is only scary enough to be fun.

Spokespeople for AAA say kids are always at greater risk as pedestrians because of their shorter stature and unreliable judgment about when and where to cross streets.

One of the most important ways to make sure kids are visible to motorists is to have them wear or carry something reflective. In recent years, more families are attending indoor Halloween events rather than trick-or-treating door to door.

Halloween parties and mall trick-or-treating are two safe and popular alternatives to the traditional Halloween activities.
