Sonora, CA -- Sources with the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors report that District Three Supervisor Jim Peterson has lost his battle with cancer.
Peterson died at his home in the Tuolumne area last night surrounded by family members. He was 62. Peterson served as a Supervisor on the Board for more than 3 years. County Administrator C. Brent Wallace said the thing he will miss most about Peterson is his laugh, he said he could always find the humor in politics. Peterson made his illness public in a letter to the board in June, however he continued to participate in meetings via speakerphone. Peterson also practiced law in Twain Harte for 30 years.
