Sonora, CA -- Winter weather in the high Sierras has complicated travel for motorists wishing to drive over the mountain passes to the east.
Officials say Highway 120 is closed at Tioga Pass from Crane Flat to a point about 15 miles east of U.S. 395. Highway 108 at Sonora Pass is also closed. Transportation officials have issued a chain advisory on Highway 4 at Ebbets pass from two miles west of the Mount Reba turnoff to the Mount Reba turnoff.
Chains are also required on all vehicles except 4-wheel drives with snow tires on all four wheels, from the east end of Lake Alpine to the junction of Highway 89.
