Sonora, CA -- The Tuolumne and Calaveras unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has lifted the restrictions on burn hours as of midnight yesterday.
Officials warn that burn permits are still required and will be until the official end of fire season. Burning is allowed only on permissive burn days as declared by the Air Pollution Control District.
Residents are urged to follow all of the safety regulations on their permits. Those who allow burn piles to escape may be subject to criminal citation and be held liable for suppression costs.
Anyone with questions should call their local CDF office.
