Protesters Oppose Schwarzenegger Initiatives

Saturday, October 29, 2005 - 02:25 PM

Fresno, CA -- Governor Schwarzenegger's visit to Fresno Yesterday was met with the chants and signs of about 250 protesters.

The governor was in the Central Valley for a televised 'town hall" appearance at KFSN TV studios to promote his initiatives on the November 8th special election ballot.

Most of the protesters came out to oppose Proposition 75, which would require unions to get written permission from their members before using dues for political purposes.

Mike Cavallero, a board member of the Fresno Police Officers Association, was one of the protesters. He says Prop 75 is the governor's attempt to silence the union worker's voice. Cavallero also criticized Schwarzenegger's town hall forums because they only invite guests pre-screened by his campaign.
