Yosemite National Park, CA -- The California Chapter of the American Planning Association is meeting at Yosemite National Park this week to discuss land use issues facing government and the private sector.
From now until Wednesday the group will be considering such issues as eminent domain, the California Environmental Quality Act and how the state is handling the current housing crisis. Other topics up for discussion will include the relationship between tribal and local government, high density housing and utilities.
Tomorrow's keynote speakers will include Carol Whiteside of the Great Valley Center and world renowned climber Royal Robbins.
The conference will wrap up with the statewide 2005 Excellence in Planning Awards Ceremony.
