Jamestown, CA -- PG&E officials say a downed power line is the cause of a power outage that affected about 1000 customers in the Jamestown and Sonora areas Saturday night.
PG&E spokeswoman Emily Barnett says the line apparently went down sometime around 8:30 in an extremely remote area on the outskirts of Jamestown. Barnett says it isn't immediately clear what caused the line to fall. Crews spent the next several hours patrolling lines by vehicle and by foot to locate the problem.
Barnett says the fallen line was located in an area of pastureland away from any established roadways.
Crews had power restored to all affected customers by 2:30 Sunday morning.
