Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest Of Avery Man On Drug Charges

Monday, November 28, 2005 - 09:15 AM

San Andreas, CA -- The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department says a routine traffic stop Friday night resulted in the arrest of an Avery man on drug charges.

The Sheriff's office says deputies stopped 19-year-old Zachary Anglin at the Valley Oaks Shopping Center just before 10:00.

An investigation lead deputies to believe that Anglin was under the influence of a controlled substance.

The sheriff's department says a search of the vehicle turned up about 110 grams of marijuana along with other items used in the sale of marijuana and illegal fireworks.

A report says Anglin later admitted to being in possession of the marijuana with the intent to sell, and being under the influence of marijuana.

Anglin was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of possession with intent to sell and transportation.

His bail was set at 90 thousand dollars.
