Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Evading Charge

Valley Springs, CA -- A Valley Springs man is facing numerous charges after leading officers on a car chase early this morning.

The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department says 39-year-old Anthony Kikuchi led deputies on a 5-mile pursuit, which started at the entrance to New Hogan Lake Recreation area.

Kikuchi fled on foot and was taken into custody after a short chase. CHP officers say Kikuchi was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

After Kikuchi was treated for minor injuries he was booked into the county jail and is being held on $25,000 bail.
