CDF Battalion Chief Position To Be Filled In Spring

Sonora, CA -- CDF officials say the position of Battalion Chief will be filled as soon as next spring.

Rommie Jones with CDF says he and Sherry Moranz from the San Andreas office have been filling in during the transition period.

Since Battalion Chief Richard Imlach retired in November Jones says the two of them have been splitting the duties.

At the latest the position will be filled by July 1st, however Jones says it most likely will not take that long.

He says the process is the same as any other transfer or promotion, officials will review all of the possible candidates and either promote within, or take someone from another area within the same rank.

Jones says he still sees Imlach around the office occasionally, taking care of paperwork or appearing in court for older cases.
