Sonora, CA -- Court House Park in downtown Sonora has been filled with Tuolumne General Hospital supporters all day, as the long anticipated Beilenson Hearings take place near by.
Hundreds of Tuolumne County residents turned out for the first hearing, which took place from 1:30pm-5:00pm. More than 50 people spoke to the Board of Supervisors, most in favor of continuing all services at TGH. Several supporters advised the board to let the residents decide with a vote in November. District 1 Supervisor Liz Bass says that a vote on specific issues brought before the board by county staff regarding TGH services may be voted on at the end of the second session if the process is concluded within the proper time frame.
The next hearing will be broadcast live on the Mother Lode's News Station, AM 1450 KVML beginning at 7:00pm. You can also listen to the live audio stream here on MyMotherLode.com.
