Deadline Extended For Mother Lode Parade Entries

Sonora, CA -- Wednesday marked the deadline for 2006 Mother Lode Parade entries but Jim Earll, of the Sheriff's Department, says if you have your application and a check for $15 in his hands by Saturday, April 29, you're in the parade.

Those entries can be delivered to Earll at the Sheriff's Department.

To date Earll has 110 entries with a stack of applications still to be entered in his computer. The average number of entries runs between 160 and 180 per year but Earll points out the field has surpassed 300 entries.

As far as the weather is concerned, Earll says that in directing the parade for the past 10 years, "Nobody rains on my parade."

This year's Mother Lode Parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 13th starting at 10AM.
