Sonora, CA – Beginning Monday, the Calaveras Ranger District will implement the next steps of its Interface Recreation Trail Project.
The project is designed to provide the public with a wide range of motorized and non-motorized recreation opportunities in the Stanislaus National Forest. The project is based on a collaborative effort on the part of the Forest Service, local communities, and recreationists.
The decision provides management direction for a variety of activities such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain bike riding, sight seeing, and off-highway vehicle use, while protecting natural resources and addressing local public concerns.
Recreation information, and free brochures with trail maps are available at the Calaveras Ranger District office located on Highway 4 in Hathaway Pines.
