Sacramento, CA -- It may be easier for officials to stay in touch during an emergency if Assembly Bill 1848 passes through the legislature.
The bill would establish a plan to implement a statewide public safety radio network to permit local, regional, and state emergency responders to communicate with each other in real time during emergencies, disasters, and terrorists threats. The measure requires an annual report to the legislature outlining a strategic plan for implementing an interoperable communications network.
The bill passed unanimously through Assembly Committee on Appropriations Wednesday.
