Twain Harte, CA -- The Twain Harte community will soon be aiding the fire department in cardiac emergencies if a fund-raising goal is met.
Several wood paneled cars, boats and other classic cars were on display for Woodyfest 2006 to raise funds for Twain Harte Fire and Rescue. The fire department is raising money for the Twain Harte Community Cardiac Emergency Survival Program. Fire Chief Bob Kempvanee says that time is of the essence when responding to a heart attack.
If the $6,000 needed for the 15 American Heart kits is raised, Twain Harte residents will be getting a crash course in the “chain of survival,” which includes calling 911, and initiating CPR.
Kempvanee says he hopes to start educating the community by the end of summer.
