Fire Strikes Tuolumne Rd. Mini Mart

Sonora, CA -- An early Wednesday morning fire struck the Sonora Mini Mart located at 14290 Tuolumne Rd.

Tuolumne County Fire Marshall Kary Hubbard reports Sheriff Department deputies responded to a burglar alarm at 3:30AM. They quickly realized that a soda machine dispenser had suffered fire damage. They immediately contacted the C.D.F.-Tuolumne County and Sonora Fire Departments.

According to Hubbard, the ice in the dispenser apparently extinguished the fire before fire department personnel arrived.

Total loss is estimated at $100,000: $75,000 for store contents along with $25,000 structural damage.
