Sonora CA -- There are more than 42,000 fewer marijuana plants in Tuolumne County due to the hard work of the Tuolumne Narcotics Team and officials with the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting.
Between July 19th and 26th, 29,492 marijuana plants were eradicated in Tuolumne County from six separate sites, all located within the Stanislaus National Forest and BLM land. That brings the total plant count for the year to 42,072, taken from a total of nine sites, which surpasses last year's plant count of 36,285.
The total estimated value of the plants eradicated so far this year is more than $100 million.
There are still further investigations on-going, and more operations anticipated for the season.
