Coulterville, CA -- Firefighters are still battling a 150 acre vegetation fire on Highway 49 near Coulterville.
The blaze started Friday at 11:00am and hundreds of firefighters from the Mother Lode responded. Reports indicate no structures have been damaged or destroyed and firefighters have stopped the forward progress of the fire.
Crews are expected to remain on scene through Saturday to strengthen the fire line, mop up and patrol for hot spots.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time; however CDF officials would like to remind all residents that a 100 foot clearance around all structures is not only a wise fire measure, it is the law.
