Sonora, CA -- The U.S. Forest Service report a three-and-a-half acre fire in the Kinsley area of the Groveland Range was quickly extinguished Sunday afternoon.
Jerry Snyder of the U.S. Forest Service reports the fire was first reported at 11:34am and was under control by 4pm. There were no injuries or structural damage as a result of the fire. Cause of the fire remains under investigation. Responding to the fire were two Forest Service engines, two each from Tuolumne County and Madera. Two helicopters, one water tender, a dozer, two crews, a strike team, an air attack and four air tankers from Columbia Air Base were also involved in the firefighting effort.
