Sonora, CA-- A 36-year-old woman is in custody for passing counterfeit travelers checks in Tuolumne County.
Since July, the brown haired, brown eyed Reno woman has been passing checks in the amount of $100 dollars under the name of Jennifer Mathews throughout the Sierra region. The suspect is currently in custody in another Northern California County where she is also believed to have passed these traveler's checks. Sheriff's Department Officials say her name is being withheld for the time being.
Anyone who has been a victim to the con is asked to contact the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department to make a report.
