Sonora Woman Faces Charge of Assault With A Knife

Sonora, CA-- A Sonora woman faces several charges after striking a man with a knife. Saturday, Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance call on Columbia Village Drive.

There, Deputies found 30-year-old Wendy Jones running after a 30-year-old male down a flight of stairs with a large knife.

The male was carrying Jones' young daughter. After detaining Jones, deputies spoke to the male victim who said, during a night of arguing with Jones, she began threatening him and struck him with the knife in the back.

He then ran down the stairs carrying Jones' daughter. Reports indicate both adults were intoxicated.

The daughter has been released to a relative and Jones now faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a weapon, and child endangerment.
