Jamestown Resident Booked On Vehicular Assault Charges

Jamestown, CA -- 43 year old Charles Richard Klaas of Jamestown is spending at least a portion of his Tuesday in the Tuolumne County Jail.

Just after midnight Monday, Klaas and his 42 year old girlfriend, Kimberly Brown also of Jamestown, were headed for the Chicken Ranch Casino in Klaas' 1992 Chevy Lumina. During an argument, Brown exited the car and was then struck by the vehicle at Chicken Ranch Rd. and Table Mountain Rd. Klaas placed Brown back in the vehicle and transported her to Tuolumne General Hospital where she is scheduled for surgery for multiple leg fractures.

Klaas was arrested and booked at the Tuolumne County Jail with a bail amount of $35,000 on a charge of assault with a vehicle causing serious injury.
