Convict Punches Attorney In Court After Guilty Verdict

Sonora, CA -- A convicted burglar is facing yet another charge after assaulting his attorney in Tuolumne County Superior Court Thursday afternoon.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department says when a jury found Joseph Farrell guilty of auto theft and burglary, he punched his court appointed attorney, Donald Martel in the face.

Reports indicate assaulting a court officer is a felony, so Farrell was booked back into the jail on that additional charge.
