Roadwork Slows Traffic On Murphys Grade

Murphys, CA -- Murphys Grade Road is getting a fresh coat of chip seal but drivers are having to wait it out while the work is done.

The Calaveras County Public Works Department is doing the work after 8 a.m. and before 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

The entire section of road from outside Murphys to Rolleri Bypass is being sealed.

Public Works Director Rob Houghton says during the chip sealing process, loose aggregate may be present and drivers should exercise caution.

The project is part of a countywide maintenance program that will chip seal 35 miles of roads this season.
