Yosemite Park Recieves $3.5 Million For Park Improvements

Yosemite, CA-- Yosemite National Park received a check for $3.5 million for park improvements today.

The check was presented by donors to the nonprofit Yosemite Fund. This year alone, the Yosemite Fund paid for 52 projects to improve Yosemite National Park.

The contribution given in 2006, was used for various projects including the restoration of Olmsted Point, the viewing point are along the Tioga Road.

The donation also supported some trail restoration on several Valley trails. Officials say money will spent toward helping restore Yosemite's most heavily impacted and traveled trails.

More than $35 million has been raised by the Yosemite Fund since 1985. For more information go to yosemitefund.org
