Sonora, CA -- After unsuccessfully trying to evade several law enforcement agencies Saturday evening, 41 year old Brian Beenblossom of Sonora finds himself in the County Jail.
Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Gempler attempted to stop Beenblossom's vehicle on Mono Way at approximately ten o'clock. Beenblossom failed to yield to deputies and led them, along with the Highway Patrol, on a high speed chase to Soulsbyville, Tuolumne, on to Standard and back to Mono Way. The 20 minute pursuit ended east of the Junction Shopping Center after Beenblossom's 1981 Chevy Blazer became disabled. After a brief struggle Beenblossom was arrested and charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, threatening a police officer, driving on a suspenced license, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon (his vehicle) and violation of parole. He is being held with no bail.
During the pursuit a sheriff's deputy was involved in a single vehicle accident near Sparks Ranch on Tuolumne Rd. While the unit sustained major damage, the deputy was not injured.
