Mi Wuk Man Arrested On Gun Charge

Twain Harte, CA -- A Mi Wuk man was taken to Tuolumne County Jail after a sheriff's deputy allegedly found a loaded Colt 45 handgun in his vehicle.

21-year-old Jair Scott Richards was booked on a charge of possession of a loaded/concealed firearm in a vehicle.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the suspect was pulled over early Saturday morning in Twain Harte at the intersection of Meadow Lane and Joaquin Gully. The initial stop was for unsafe backing, a violation of California Vehicle Code. Elsewhere in the vehicle were two additional magazines for the weapon. Both contained rounds of ammunition.
