Two Sonora Men Face Drug and Vehicle Theft Charges

Sonora, Ca -- -Two Sonora men face drug charges on top of possession of a stolen vehicle.

35-year-old Steven Mitchell Knowlton and 20-year-old Justin Cole Mendenhall were taken to Tuolumne County Jail Monday night. The two were traveling eastbound on Highway 108 approaching Soulsbyville. A corporal with the Sheriff's Department recognized the 1990 Ford F-150 they were driving as being reported stolen earlier in the day.

The two men were pulled over without incident. In searching the truck, a small amount of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe were found. The two remain in custody on 20,000 dollar bail.
