Sonora, CA -- While the amount of money that was raised is still being counted, organizers say this past weekend's "A Dream for Cody" benefit event was a success.
Casie Jachetta says a steady crowed filed in and out of the Mother Lode Fairgrounds Saturday. The afternoon was highlighted by live music, an auction and a spaghetti dinner. The proceeds will go to three year old Cody Machado, a Tuolumne boy affected by Coffin Lowry Syndrome. Among the big ticket auction items was a car donated by Christian Heights Church. It sold for $2,100.
Jachetta says she hopes to release the total amount raised in the near future, and notes that donations are still being accepted.
A second annual event is in the works for next year. Jachetta says it will benefit a new child.
