Sonora, CA -- Citizen involvement proved to be the difference in the arrest of three youths this weekend.
At 10pm Friday, 19 year old Michael David Shafer of Salida, 20 year old Vanessa Sheri Buschow of Modesto and a 16 year old male minor from Salida stole a pack of beer from the Twain Harte 7-11 market. A customer, who was in the store during the theft ... he had refused to buy the beer for the minors ... found his vehicle directly in front of the minor's Suburu a few minutes later. When the Suburu passed his car, one of the passengers threw several beer cans at his vehicle.
The adult driver then proceeded to follow the Suburu while contacting the Sheriff's Department. The vehicle was finally pulled over in Jamestown.
Shafer was booked and released after posting $15,000 bail, Buschow was booked and released after posting $10,000 bail and the juvenile was released to the Probation Department for disposition.
