Fatal Accident Near Sonora

Sonora, CA -- Many of the details have not yet been released, but the CHP reports an individual has died following a solo vehicle accident just outside of the Sonora city limits.

At 2:38pm, Officer Tom Wills says dispatch received a report of an incident near Hess Ave. and Mono Way. He notes that the vehicle drove through some bushes and ran into a parking lot.

The driver was taken to the hospital, where the individual has now been pronounced dead.

Wills says that officers are not sure the circumstances behind the injuries. The CHP will be investigating the accident this afternoon. No information regarding the individual is currently available.
