Sonora, CA -- A benefit fund for the Ray Emerald family has been established at Umpqua Bank.
The 42 year old Emerald was injured in a two vehicle accident that took place February 16th on Jacksonville Rd. near the Don Pedro Bridge. 67 year old Margo Meyerbachtol was killed in that headon collision. Emerald is being treated at the Santa Clara Valley Rehabilitation Center. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Emerald was named as Tuolumne County's "Citizen of the Year" at the annual Chamber of Commerce Best of Tuolumne County Awards Dinner.
He serves as the girls' fast-pitch softball coach at Summerville High School.
