PG&E Making Progress Following Up On Power Outages

Wednesday, February 28, 2007 - 02:00 PM

Sonora, CA -- Two hours ago, an estimated 18,000 Tuolumne County PG&E customers were without power.

Spokesperson Paul Marino says the number has been cut down to 12,000. Those affected are primarily in the area of Sonora, Columbia, Twain Harte and Mi Wuk Village.

Marino says the good news is that the bulk of the customers will be back on by late this afternoon. The bad news is that crews are planning to work into the night in order to get the final customers restored. Which areas that will include, the company hopes to know by later today.

Marino adds that only 900 Calaveras County customers are currently without power. They are primarily in the area of Angels Camp. He says Calaveras County was not hit as hard as Tuolumne County.
